Celebrating Culture!
Today we celebrated Holidays Around the World! We loved traveling from classroom to classroom and making different cultural crafts! In Mrs. Witten's room, we entered into Germany and learned all about the tradition of the Christmas pickle! In Mrs. Smith's class, we hopped on to Australia where we learned all about Australian holiday traditions! Did you know that Santa rides in a truck and it is pulled by kangaroos? Finally we made it to Mrs. Hopper's room where we learned everything we could about the holiday called Kwanzaa! We made candle bookmarks and were able to dance around to some tribal African music! At the very end, we traveled back to our own classroom where Mrs. Conner and Mrs. Tallent welcomed us to Asia! Here, we learned all about the Chinese New Year and made lanterns to decorate our homes. Mrs. Conner and Mrs. Tallent LOVE to dress up! We had so much fun traveling around the world and learning about how children everywhere are similar and different from us!
