Meet Ringmaster Conner
Hey! My name is Katie Gray Conner. I am from Gastonia and have lived here all of my life. I grew up going to Gaston County Schools and graduated from Ashbrook High School. I then attended Appalachian State University where I student taught in Kindergarten and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. When I am not teaching, I love to travel, shop, run, be organized, spent time at the lake and hang out with my family and friends.
This is my fifth year teaching and I am really excited about this year! I taught at Lingerfeldt Elementary School my first year and spent my last four years at Woodhill! I absolutely LOVE Woodhill Elementary! GO HORNETS!
I married my high school sweetheart in October 2012 in Blowing Rock, NC. We have been married for 2 fabulous years and now both reside in Gastonia, NC. We have a wonderful Golden Retriever named Wylie who we absolutely love with all our hearts!
It has been my calling to teach for as long as I can remember and I LOVE every minute of it! The relationships that are made in my classroom are ones that I will cherish forever and fill my heart with a sense of joy and happiness! My hope is to create confident, self-motivate life long learners that love the classroom as much as I do! I was Woodhill and Gaston County Schools' New Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013 and am currently Woodhill's Teacher of the Year for the 2014-2015 year! I am currently getting my Masters in Instructional Technology at Appalachian State University and will graduate in May 2015!
I cannot wait to get to know all of my students and am thrilled about this year! I love teaching Kindergarten and my favorite thing to do is sing and dance with my kids!
